Oh, I can’t say how much FUN I had designing/decorating for this shower!  Brain storming new & inventive ideas is always challenging but once you get that first item (in my it was the invitations) rolling….it all just kinda falls into place!

Another hostess for the baby shower & friend of mine, Andi, helped kick-start the decorating process by getting supplies for the cupcake flags, banner and ribbon for the diapercake.  I was able to whip out the banner & cupcake flags in no time using my SD Silhouette. Have I told you lately that I LOVE that thing! I do, I do, I do…

Playing off the fun patterns of the banner & cupcake flags, I was inspired to get a little funkie with the layers on the ice cream cone diapercake.  I used an old, brown flower-pot, placed a box of waffle bowls in the bottom (space filler), wrapped up 3 different sizes of blankets (for each dollop of ice cream), and placed a ring stacker toy in the middle of the top dollop. The red ball on the top of the stacker was perfect for the ‘cherry’ on top, literally!

Another fun project, was coming up with an idea of how to make fake pickles. Humm…got it!  Peanuts. Yes, Peanuts! Just think about it, they look just like those little baby pickles.  All I had to do was paint them Green!

It was Andi’s idea to label all the different sides & flavors we were going to offer for the Pickles & Ice Cream spread and let me tell you…It turned out so well!  I picked these plastic frames up at JoAnn’s (%60 off), cut scrapbook paper to fit, and used a paint pen to label all the choices.  Well, Andi wrote on them, she has better hand writing!

So, for all who know me…I couldn’t stop there, I had to make something that could hang from the ceiling! It’s not a party unless you have decorations from ceiling to floor!  I used real ice cream cones, foam balls, felt, my man-made pickles, and small red poofs!  Cute huh?

Here’s the Mom-To-Be and all the hostess!

And here’s the finished table decor!

Can’t wait to meet the Little Drake in a few short weeks…If he’s anything like his daddy, they’ll have their hands full! :-)   Congrats & Best of Luck to the New Parents! <3 ya

Lately I’ve been approached about creating invitations for:  birthdays, baby showers, etc.  I was using Microsoft Office 2007 & christmas time clipart to make them (cause that’s all I had to work with) and felt like I needed to upgrade.  So, I did! I have recently purchased a software called  Mountaincow PrintingPress Extreme 6.0 Invitation Software.  I also purchase the  Illustrations by Mountaincow, All Collections software as well.  The printing press program didn’t come with enough backgrounds, images or borders for my liking so the Illustration software made a world of difference.

Here’s a few examples of baby shower invitations I’ve whipped up:

So far, so good!
